The family is quite nervous for her. Any words of advice for her? Practical stuff. How does she keep her kids off crack? How do you protect yourself from car-jackers? What do you do if somebody pulls a gun on you? etc.

From what I hear Richmond is nice. You keep your kids off crack by being a good parent and making sure they cultivate their interests so they don't get bored. 2 and 3 can be solved by not going to bad areas.

I like Virginia. Richmond has it's nice areas and a few not so nice areas, but I don't live there so I don't really know what to tell you. I do enjoy the Richmond Braves games though.

The difference is that it sounds like we're paying one of them significantly more to come here.

My dad lives in Richmond, so I know the area fairly well. Just tell her to stay away from the Southside of Richmond. That is the bad part of town where most of the crimes occur. The West End is a nice area to live.

Yeah stay away from South Richmond. Other than that it's fine, especially for Braves games like Mug said, although the park there is a POS (even though I caught an Andy Marte foul ball off the back wall with my bare hand).

She'll like Virginia, the Land of Delicious Meat. Hopefully some of my fellow Virginians know what I'm referencing there
