This is a new fantasy web site with a pretty different concept -- players are bought at a fixed price in the draft, and once the season starts, players' prices fluctuate and they are traded in a sort of open market. No trades, except through the 'market'.

Rotohog

There are also prizes for overall points, across all leagues -- advertising a $100,000 grand prize. It is free.

It is a points league. Rules are a little vague, so I e-mailed them with a bunch of questions.

Anyone done a league similar to this? I accepted an invite to a league, but it seems pretty different than roto.

About 10 years ago, I used to be in a couple of free leagues like this. I can't remember the provider for sure... Can anyone help me out?

Didn't Sporting News run something like this?

yah, it was on smallworld.com run by the Sporting News. It was fun until they started charging money for extra trades. It became impossible to compete with the people who were willing to pay to play. Ironically, it became a little more like real baseball.

Thanks -- how about a strategy question?

I was thinking of getting a couple of higer-priced players, say $30, then some $20 players and then round out my roster with bargains -- guys I think I can get a huge return on. Then, as these players rise in value, I sell them off for studs. Does this make sense? Or should I just distribute the $$ pretty evenly?
