ur team is strong as hell for a 14 team league. which pick in the draft did u have? did u make any trades or just are playing with idiots? tell me how u got arod, utley, hafner, wells, abreu, halladay and zambrano
I actually took over for someone else. Team was awful. Only guys still there from when I took over are Arod and Lidge.
Most of the guys I acquired via trade over the past 2 years. I basically moved everyone I had for specs or other young established players and then kept spinning them until I wound up with the guys I have now, so I was always giving up talent to get talent (for instance I gave up Holliday, Liriano, D Lee to get Teix/Abreu before the start of last season).
Other guys, like Matsuzaka, Hall, Lopez, Kendall, Taveras, Saito, Weathers, Gregg and most of my specs, I claimed off waivers or signed as FAs.
I'd also keep moving guys I didn't feel were part of my core for specs. I just dealt Benitez/Jurrjens for Fields/Casilla, for example, so I've made sure to have a stocked minor league system at all times. That way, I can keep spinning guys.
