Any studs dropped in your leagues?

Postby Arlo » Tue May 07, 2002 11:32 am

So far, the biggest names I've seen waived in my leagues were Jason Kendall (6x6 league) and Rafael Palmeiro (5x5 keeper), both of which should come back to haunt their former owners.

Anybody see any other big names released by impatient owners?

One private league I joined this year was full of people who apparently don't know too much about fantasy baseball. Here is the list of FA I picked after they were dropped:

Jason Kendall
Greg Maddux
Kevin Brown
Wade Miller
Chan Ho Park
Corey Koskie

Yeah, wow! And I work hard to grab guys like, uhm, well, Toby Hall who I released earlier this season or Brian Lawrence!

I've picked up a few guys, though admittedly, a lot of them came before the guys heated up:

Brian Lawerence
Padilla
Perez (picked him up right before he killed my Cubs!)
Julio

I pulled a real stupid move. I went to drop jacqu jones of minny this past w/e and dropped andruw jones of atl instead. Needless to say the team who was #1 on the waiver wire scooped jones up real quick! On the brighter side I did get Kearns.

Ouch, kcy1998! That sort of thing hurts. Let's hope Kearns keeps playing on this level - if he does, you'll have forgotten all about Jones by season's end.

Someone dropped Roy Oswalt in one of my leagues. I scooped him up right quick.

I dropped Wade Miller in that league, sort of on accident. The web page wouldn't let me put him on injured reserve, and I needed a roster space to put Oswalt in, so I dropped Miller, and tried to grab him off waivers. However, picking up Oswalt made me the last person to pick from waivers, and I lost Big Wade. Ah well, I call it a fair trade.
