According to his agent, Mo Vaughn is now considering reporting to spring training in February. Vaughn, who has an arthritic left knee, said last month that he likely would retire this winter, but it appears that he's had a change of heart. The Mets would strongly prefer that he not show up, as insurance will take care of $11.75 million of the $15 million he's owed if he is unable to play. If Vaughn decides to play, the Mets might be considerably less active this winter than originally believed. Source: New York Post
Say bye-bye to the free agent market if Vaughn attempts to play.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

I thought you along with other Mets fans might be.
The Rangers have the same problem with Rusty Greer. His body has broken down on him and he made 9 million last year without even taking the field. He makes another 9 million this year, and it doesn't look like he's going to be able to play. They are guessing maybe in 2005. 9 million would certainly help solve some of our pitching problems.
He just needs to be a man and retire. Same goes for Vaughn.
