Just Drafted...What Do You Think?

Postby Santana4Cy » Mon Feb 26, 2007 10:33 pm

I just drafted in a 12 team league with a bunch of people I know. This isn't either of my pay leagues, so I didn't really care about it that much. It was more of a preparation for my "real" drafts. Anyways, the scoring system is Yahoo head-to-head (hate Yahoo head-to-head) with these categories: R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, W, L, CG, SV, K, ERA, WHIP.

C: Ivan Rodriguez (10;113)
1B: Jason Giambi (8;89)
2B: Brandon Phillips (12;137)
3B: Alex Rodriguez (1;8)
SS: Stephen Drew (15;176)
LF: Raul Ibanez (9;104)
CF: Vernon Wells (3;32)
RF: Brian Giles (14;161)
U: Travis Hafner (2;17)

BN: Barry Bonds (16;185)
BN: Lyle Overbay (19;224)

SP: John Smoltz (5;56)
SP: Matt Cain (6;65)
SP: Erik Bedard (11;128)
RP: Joe Nathan (4;41)
RP: J.J. Putz (7;80)
P: Derek Lowe (13;152)
P: Scott Olsen (17;200)

BN: Adam Wainwright (18;209)
BN: Pat Neshek (20;233)
BN: Scot Shields (21;248)

Other than shortstop and right field, I feel like I did alright.

Any opinions are welcome.

You could really do better at 2B than Phillips. SS is also another gap for you. Barry Bonds will hit HRs but otherwise, isn't the stat maker he used to be. He gets walked tooo much and can't run, making it harder for him to get base hits.

Other than Smoltz, Nathan, and Putz, you could really use quality starters. I've never liked Bedard and as long as he is with the Orioles, will never be the top pitcher he has the potential to be. Olsen is coming into his own and this year could be a huge year for him. Lowe is ok but the rest you got I'm surprised to even see picked.

Pepople seem to be big on Drew so maybe you could package him with Cain to get a better SS and decent starter...

Good luck this year.

Bonds will dominate OPS for me as well.
