(avoiding the bullpen question) Would you rather see the Cubs sign Luis Castillo or Ivan Rodriguez?

Seeing what Lofton did for the Cubs with is OBP and speed at the top of the lineup I would like to see Luis picked up and given the 2nd base job. Send Grudzielanek on his way and hope Corey Patterson is the middle of lineup bat he was last year before his injury. I just don't see how the vetern Lofton or uprising Patterson could take a back seat to each knowing each is a everyday player.

So I would rather see Luis come in as a lead off hitter than Grudzielanek attempting that roll.

thoughts?

Well Castillo would be the best bet, but Dusty wants lo resign Kenny. giving Dusty's penchant for favoring veterans, that will probably steal some AB's from Patterson. God forbid he should go into a slump.

I prefer Luis

I think Pudge's bat would be very nice at Wrigley. :-)

Castillo wouldn't be a bad option either, but I'd go after Pudge.

Luis would be nice a option at second......but the weakest hitting position the Cubbies had this year was at C......Millers continuos grounding into DP's....and Bako couldn't hit the floor if he feel off a bar stool......I would really rather have Pudge...... ;-D

But I wouldn't complain about either one...... :-)

The biggest improvement would be to add Pudge. IMO. Castillo is good but Ivan would help them out more.

So what about Derrek Lee? Can he hit first or second in the lineup? And what about old man Karros and Randall Simon?

I like Lee in the #4 spot.....put Sosa #3...Lee#4...and Alou #5... ;-D

most likely, Karros is gone and Simon will be kept on....But we will have to wait and see... I have heard a couple of trade rumors involving Simon....but nothing I put alot of stock into.... :-)

I think I-Rod would probably be the most helpful...
