Does anyone have an opinion on how much time he will see behind the plate this year? Everyone is aware of how much of a liablilty is back there, so I will not get into that. If he does see less time behind the plate, does Shoppach see all the time the V-Mart doesn't or will they carry 3 catchers? I would love to hear what you guys think about this.

Martinez will be the Tribe's primary catcher. I know Wedge has said that Martinez will probably catch 120ish games and play some first and DH. More than likely he will continue to play in about 150ish games a year. Shoppach will be the only other catcher on the team. Assuming he makes the team Ryan Garko would be the emergency 3rd catcher as he came up through the Indians system as a catcher only being converted to 1st in the past couple years.

Martinez will still remain catcher eligibly for many years me thinks!

He'll be catching. Do you have a source that says he won't?
