Deep league/Points Draft Strategy

20 Team Points League with a very peculiar setup. At first, I was over playing in the league but I think it'll be interesting to see how it goes down.

R (1), 1B (1), 2B (2), 3B (3), HR (4), RBI (1), SB (2), BB (1), IP (1), W (10), L (-5), CG (10), SHO (10), SV (10), ER (-2), BB (-1), K (1)

Many closers should be projected ahead of SPs but still are undervalued. There are a ton of 1B/OF/3B who outproduced every 2b but Utley and every SS outside the top 5. It is the same with C.

I am just tripped out because I've never done a twenty team league. If my pick is one either end, it could get really ugly, really fast.

Any advice?

That is a silly pitching point system. I did some quick math and was not surprised to see K-Rod to be worth more than TWICE as much as Santana based on last year's stats. The elite hitters are still worth more than the top closers. I would leave this league because of how unfair closers are but if you want to stay, I would say make sure you grab at least two of the top tier closers. If you have an early pick (10th or up), get a stud hitter first then stack up the closers. If its a later pick, just grab two solid closers back to back would be a great idea for the 1st and 2nd round.

Whoever decided on the scoring system forgot to take into account that Starting pitchers tend to pitch for about 6 innings more than the averager reliever. You change that immediately or just take advantage of it. How many pitchers do you start and do you have a split on SP's and RP's? That would make a difference...
