Postby shortsavage » Fri Nov 21, 2003 12:17 am

Did anyone else enter mlb.com's Free Agent Frenzy?

Here are the picks I made (the final day to submit picks was 11/12).

Miguel Tejada, Anaheim, Confidence 15
Ivan Rodriguez, Florida, Confidence 14
Eddie Guardado, Minnesota, Confidence 13
Mike Cameron, NY. Mets, Confidence 12
Gary Sheffield, NY. Yankees, Confidence 11
Greg Maddux, San Deigo, Confidence 10
Bartolo Colon, NY. Yankees, Confidence 9
Keith Foulke, Oakland, Confidence 8
Rafael Palmeiro, Baltimore, Confidence 7
Javy Lopez, Chi. Cubs, Confidence 6
Andy Pettite, Houston, Confidence 5
Vladimir Guerrero, San Francisco, Confidence 4
Kevin Millwood, NY. Mets, Confidence 3
Sydney Ponson, Philadelpia, Confidence 2
Luis Castillo, St. Louis, Confidence 1

If I could, I would tinker with these a little, but I think I did alright. We will see how things play out.

I agree with all of these... Including Vlad, except for two. Pettite will be in Pinstripes next year, and Millwood will be in the ATL.
No way ATL opens the season with Hampton as there ace. Who am I forgeting here ?

Current list of "Free Agents"

Starters.
1 .. Hampton
2 .. Smoltz
3 .. Ramirez
4 .. Ortiz
5 .. Byrd/Marquis

And if they do try and start the staff (above) for '04. Their run of NL East titles will come to an end. Finally. But then again. Maybe Cox will finally get the respect that he so rightly deserves and pull one out, but I don't see it.

I would rather be a Pads fan than a Braves fan right now.

Hehe, and 2 years ago that sort of statement could have gotten someone committed.

Yep I remember, there were 4 of them in this white van and they kept knocking on the door, ringing the doorbell. Something about a new jacket they wanted me to try on. 8-o

they wouldn't go away.....

Nice predictions! Ponson to Philadelphia in particular is an intriguing thought that hasn't received much attention, but might make a lot of sense. :-)
