Help.....settle transaction dispute

Postby Cobb's kids » Sun Feb 25, 2007 8:32 pm

In a 6x6 roto league that includes IP to the pitchers stat. Commish wants to cut trans from 90 to 50 to keep owners from loading up on IP from the day to day. Some of us feel those teams picking up the pitchers for the IP category will be hurt in others areas and most likely in the leagues basement. and what is stopping them from loading up in other areas like SB?

any thoughts suggestions, ideas?

I've played in many leagues with 40-50 transaction limits. It does not handicap anyone. It does force you to have 1) a good draft and 2) Be selective about who you pick if you want to win. I don't see how this hurts a last place owner more than a first place owner if it is all agreed upon at the beginning.

If players use streaming to win, then they will probably do badly under this new system.

Institute a rule that a team can only add 1 pitcher per day. If a team violates this rule the commish removes the 2nd pitcher added.

I've never done H2h but, while streaming can get IP, wins, K's, it hurts ERA and WHIP. A risk-reward strategy to be sure.

This is why we changed some of our pitching stats in order to compensate for this.

we changed Wins to W-L, so those teams starting people who are praying for some garbage wins get penalized for the losses.

and we also changed Ks to K/9 same theory. this really helped our leagues churning problem.
