Worst Draft Ever

Postby brandon_wyer » Sat Feb 24, 2007 3:02 pm

Man, I think this is the worst team I have ever drafted. It was a 12 team Rotisserie league with the standard categories. I had the 5th overall pick. Here's how it went down:

1. (5) Johan Santana SP
2. (20) Derek Jeter SS
3. (29) Andruw Jones OF
4. (44) Troy Glaus 3B,SS
5. (53) Chone Figgins 2B,3B,OF
6. (68) Huston Street RP
7. (77) Daisuke Matsuzaka SP
8. (92) Chipper Jones 3B
9. (101) Jason Giambi 1B
10. (116) Kenji Johjima C
11. (125) Raúl Ibañez OF
12. (140) Chris Capuano SP
13. (149) Nick Markakis OF
14. (164) Freddy Sánchez 2B,3B,SS
15. (173) Mike González RP
16. (188) Freddy García SP
17. (197) Eric Byrnes OF
18. (212) Conor Jackson 1B
19. (221) Kerry Wood SP
20. (236) Paul Lo Duca C
21. (245) Edwin Encarnación 3B

I had some nice picks, but the majority of my team is a joke. I don't know what happened. I desperately need to make some moves, so after you rate it maybe you can give me some advice. Here's some links that may be useful:

Anything else you would need you can probably find by just looking around. Thanks in advance. By the way, I'm the Reds.

Hmm not as bad as u think. Atleast offencewise.

Runs - solid
HRs - very good
RBis - good
SBs - excellent
BA - needs work. All over the map.

SPs/RPs

Wow u better hope Daisuke Matsuzaka comes thru & Capuano
rebounds from last yr. Garcia is only good for Ws & an okay WHIP.

Street is good but u def need another closer. Wood(potential closer0 is a good hold onto if u have the space

FAs to consider:

Jeremy Sowers
Nate Robertson
John Maine
Mike Stanton or David Weathers(I believe weathers is closer for now but keep an eye on that situation)

Please help:

Just traded BButler, BWood & JLoney for Mark Teixeira, Ryan Theriot & Renyel Pinto in a DYNASTY LEAGUE. Big gamble I know!

I agree with the last post, your offense isn't that bad, but the back end of your pitching has issues. It probably would've been better to go with another hitter instead of Street in the 6th rd., but hindsight is 20/20. I would suggest maybe trying to deal Jones for another SP and an OF with high upside. You could try trading Glaus too for some pitching help since you seem to already have SS/3B covered.

Suggestions on mine?

well its not the worst team ever because johan santanna, jeter and some other people will help u in this season but u also have some weak spots so as the season begins try to look for some good free agents and drop the bad peps for the good free agents
