this is a good team maybe better than mine.....maybe my pitching is bettter.......but i think this team is good so just dont mess it up and make bad trades and stuff like that.
Not bad for an auto draft. Your pitching is a little weak.
I'd probably try to trade Furcal\M. Young\N Johnson for some type of SP 1b (after shifting berkman to OF) or OF upgrade
Drop craig biggio and Chris duffy and find a SP on the WW, there's probably a sleeper or two undrafted.
It's really not THAT bad. It could end up working to your benefit because you've got a couple of easily droppable players that you can replace with WW players that start out hot at the beginning of the year.
This acutally isn't a bad team. I would also trade Furcal with something else and upgrade a good Pitcher. For sure drop Duffy for a decent Pitcher off the WW and just don't trade a bunch of people thinking your team is bad because it isn't.
Try to grab another reliever off the WW. Anybody who you feel has a decent shot at closing at some point this season. If Broxton's available, he has a good shot I think.
Not bad at all for autodraft. I would look for OF upgrade somewhere. If that means trading Young or Furcal to a SS starved team, then I would do it. I think you need an upgrade over Lackey as well. But not as bad as you think.
A nice option at catcher, don't expect Frank Thomas Numbers but he'll be playing just about everyday now that he's just DHing, he had roughly 20 Homers last year, so I think it's safe to say he'll have more this year.
1B Lance Berkman
Stud, could shift to outfield, no complaints here.
2B Chase Utley
Stud, you'll be getting production out of 2b that no one else will be getting.
3B Ryan Zimmerman
Stud, so long as someone can get on ahead of him.
SS Michael Young
Stud
OF Matt Holliday
Stud
OF Rocco Baldelli
Should help out your batting average, which could be a nice source of points for this roster
OF Mike Cameron
Good at 4 of the 5 categories, he's a fringe fantasy guy, however, but you may have to keep him to partner with Furcal in the steals department.
Util Rafael Furcal
Great for steals, an essential player on this team.
BN Melvin Mora
Seems like he's in the decline, I might look for help on the WW
BN Nick Johnson
He'll miss time at the beginning of the season, I'd keep him and slot him on your DL to start the season, could be nice to have as the year progresses.
BN Craig Biggio
You won't need him with Utley.
BN Chris Duffy
Great late pick, possibly the new Podsednik.
Pitching
SP John Lackey
Stud
SP Chris Young
Had a great season last year, if he keeps it up, solid #2.
RP B.J. Ryan
Stud
RP Octavio Dotel
Nice pick, should help, KC will have a lot of close games, just be cautious because he's never been successful in this role, should have litle pressure beyond what he put on himself in KC.
P Mike Mussina
Had a great season last year, should get wins regardless of how he performs.
P Rich Hill
Could take a step forward or back, but has a massively improved offense behind him and has great breakout potential.
P Tom Glavine
He should get 300 this year which means you'll get double digit wins.
BN Cliff Lee
Possible breakout pitcher on a potent offensive team.
To sum up You could probably use another closer or two, which means you should closely monitor the situations in Cinicinati and Boston, where the jobs are up for grabs. You should drop Biggio and Mora and you'll have an open spot when Johnson slids onto the DL, so you'll have room for a couple of closers. Don't worry about the talent when it comes to a closer, it's just important that they have the job, your starting pitchers should be able to support an erradic ERA and WHIP or TWO. Otherwise, you're good to go!
