Lars Anderson has huge upside. Loney will is pretty much a finished product. He is a Sean Casey type firstbase. Good average, lots of doubles, but won't hit 40 homers.
"I do not think baseball of today is any better than it was 30 years ago... I still think Radbourne is the greatest of the pitchers." John Sullivan 1914-Old athletes never change.
Call me crazy, but I'll go with Loney. Lars Anderson could be the next anyone... he could even be the next Graham Koonce or Brad Eldred. It's too early to tell, so unless you have a deep minor league system, and aren't looking for a contributor for the next couple of years I think Loney is the guy.
Hate to divert the subject a tad, but how do you compare Lars with Chris Parmelee? I think that is a safer/closer comp since they both came out of HS last year. Parmelee had time in the minors whereas Lars did not.
How do you compare these two?
