Anyone else having trouple with CBS tech support? We set up the league and noticed that the site is not following our position eligibility settings.

Example: Josh Johnson should qualify as both SP & RP in our league, but the site only has him as SP eligible.

Their help center does not seem to be working.

Anyone else having similar issues?

No problems with them at all. Sometimes though, you don't realize you've gotten a response. Check your answer center in the tech support section frequently.

I've sent 3 questions/comments with no response. They have Aubrey Huff listed as 1B eligible even though he only played 3 games there last year. I haven't looked at the pitcher eligibilities.

Answer on Josh Johnson eligibility (sp-rp)

Postby Bajecco » Fri Feb 23, 2007 10:46 pm

Well, CBS help center is still not working. It's always worked before so I'm guessing it's a small programming issue. Anyway, after reading closer I found out that CBS has a rule on pitching eligibility that cannot be altered. The rule states that a pitcher must have at least 5 starts or 10 relief apperances to qualify at those designated positions.

In regards to Aubrey Huff, go to your league settings and see how many games the default is for players to qualify at a position. I think it may be set at 1. If so, that is why Huff is considered a 1b.

CBS Sportsline & "non-pitchers"

Postby Bajecco » Sat Feb 24, 2007 11:29 am

Your league commish can set the games played at position qualification for all non-pitchers. For some reason CBS does not allow the same setting for pitchers nor do they allow you to set limits for innings pitched....strange considering that every other FBB site in the galaxy allows for those setting to be altered by the commish. I hope I'm wrong about this, but so far no one has corrected me so....

Why would Johnson qualify as a RP?

Josh Johnson pitched 7 games in relief last year.

I just checked and I see a problem with Huff's eligibility as well (he is shown as 1b eligible). I verified our league setting of 20 games, and also verified that players such as Ortiz (10 games) and Hafner (4 games) are not 1b eligible so it does not seem to be a system wide problem.

I'm certainly concerned that there could be other players that show the incorrect eligibility.
