I'm a sports editor at my college newspaper, and I'm trying to do an article on who has the best of each pitch in the majors. For example, who has the best fastball, who has the best curve, etc.
What do you guys think?
I can't come up with who has the best slider or splitter/sinker.
some options
fastball -
Zumaya
Nathan?
Jamie Moyer?
Changeup -
Santana
curve -
Zito
Halladay?
Oswalt?
splitter -
Clemens?
Slider -
lidge?

Fastball is definitely Marino Rivera.
Change up should go to Hoffman as much as I like Santana. Hamels is up there also.
Slider would definitely be Krod. Lidge doesn't have the same command.
Curve probably Zito.
Splitter = Harden.
Sinker = Webb.

Forgot Sheets for his curve. He throws two varieties (fast slurvy and a slow 12/6) and both are knee bucklers. He also has the best command of the pitch.

If you're looking for a slider, Krod should top the list. Mariano Riveras Cutter is a type of fastball, but if you want pure speed Zumaya looks to throw the hardest.
