brown bag bet?

and on what conditions

Let's make it an av bet. if i win you get a dice-k av. if you win...you pick mine for 3 months.

lets make it over Dice-K's numbers.

ok whats the line you wanna go with and we can go over under

So if there is less than 140 ip, the bet is off?

ERA of four good?

sounds good to me
minimum of 140 ip?

Os less than 140 IP and it is off?

yea. because if he pitches one game then gets hit by a truck...

Here is a great article on the source of all this hype around dice-k...http://files.meetup.com/295077 ... atness.doc

Ill give a brief summary if you don't want to read it.

During the Koshien High School tournament in japan (which is compareable to our march madness). During this tourney dice-k pitched in all 6 games going 5-0, with 1 save and a 1.17 era. In the quarter finals he pitched a 17 inning complete game throwing 250 pitches. The very next day he came into the game to get the save. The very next day in the championship game the guy goes out and pitches a no hitter.

And just think this is before he started to throw the gyro ball.

If his biggest concern is switching from a 6 day to a 5 day rotation I think he can handle it.

There is a chance he may flop. I understand that he hasn't faced a lineup like the yankees have, but if your a red sox fan you got to feel all warm and tingley about this guy.

Well, you had to go mention the sig, so I'm compelled to point out that there's an error... "pitch in less then 20 games" should be "pitch in fewer than 20 games."

And so sorry the OP is boring you with something so insignificant as an update on the greatest Japanese hurler of his generation pitching in the major leagues when there are much more scintillating topics in this forum such as Buehrle pitching Wednesday and Prior pitching Friday and Gomes' swinging habits and Teahen trying to crack the top 10 third basemen list.

Fantasy owners are trying to decide whether or not to draft Dice-K, right? So why wouldn't they want to know if he's potentially over-working himself in spring training? Don't let your Red Sox-Yankees hatred cloud the fact that this guy, for better or for worse, is big news in fantasy baseball.
