I'm taking over commishing a league that I was in last year:

It was/isa Yahoo h2h. I want to make some changes, but I can’t make the changes too major, or the players might get pissed off at me. Before people joined, I made a few changes. Last year it was a 9X9, which I thought was too much. It was as follows:

Pitching: W,L,CG,SV,BB,K,Hld,ERA,WHIP
Batting: R,H,HR,RBI,SB,K,E,AVG,OBP
Pitchers used: SP,SP,RP,RP,P,P,P
27 innings pitched minimum
25 player roster w/ 2 DL: C,1st,2nd,3rd,SS,LF,CF,RF,OF,UTIL,SP,SP,RP,RP,P,P,P, 8 BENCH

I changed the categories to 7x7:
Pitching: W,L,S,Hld,ERA,WHIP, K/BB
Batting: R,H,HR, RBI,SB, AVG, OBP

There are a few people in this league who spend a lot of time on waivers and make a lot of moves. I think I did a pretty good job with pitching… they have to worry about losses, and ERA, WHIP, and K/BB. I think I might get some complaints about not having Ks, but my excuse will be that we have K/BB, so what do we need Ks for? Batting I’m not sure about. All of them are positive categories, except AVG and OBP. Will it be too easy for people to pick up players off waivers? Last year we also had Ks and Es, which made them have to think about who they were picking up. I know I hated having Ks as a category. Does anyone have any suggestions of changes I should make that will make the league better?

Also, last year, and years past, seemed to favor pitching. Is there anything I can do to make pitching a little more important?

I'm not sure why you would want to limit WW pick-ups on the offensive side. I can understand putting rules or categories in place to stop pitcher churning/streaming, but I don't see any problems with "churning" offensive players....who cares?

And if you're really interested in stopping that practice, I think innings pitched and games started limits are better than adding a ton of stat categories.
