Wow you guys are doing a horrible job. You have lefties being compared to righties... power hitters compared to avg hitters with mild power. Suggestion, before you throw out a name, try and get actually comparable players.
Hughes to Zambrano.... not even close, I would buy Prior
Carlos Quentin to Lyle Overbay....OF vs 1b, Right vs Left.
Elbert vs DCab... Right vs Left again
Gallardo to Sheets... nah, different types of pitchers. Ill buy Mussina
Ellsbury to Damon...nah... how about Mark Kotsay
Kershaw to Halladay...Try again. Kershaw is a lefty who works in the low/mid 90's with a curveball. How about Adenhart to Halladay

It would be a lot more fun to get them actually comparable instead of just pulling names out of a hat.

Well Let me see, both are fastball, curveball, changeup pitchers. Gallardo does have a slider. He his curve is not really close to Mussinas Knuckle curve. Gallardo does work in the mid 90s but can get more velocity than Mussina can.

Ellsbury to Damon...nah

Ok this is a very good comparison.

Damon=lefty CF with plus plus speed, great OBP, good range, weak arm, and 15-20 homeruns (occasionally less).

Ellsbury= lefty CF with plus- plus speed, very good OBP, Great range, below average arm, and project tos have 10-15 homeruns.

What is wrong with comparing the two.

Josh Fields?
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.

With Martinez being so young, it's pretty difficult to determine a similar player. Personally, once he fills out, I see him being quite similar to Vernon Wells - other than the fact VW bats right.
