Ibanez, Mr. "UnderRated". While he most likely will not repeat his #s from last year. I'll take .280/85/25/95 as others pass on him, any day.

I agree with usclerkguy. Every year people pass on Ibanez and I reap the benefits every single time. Even if he doesn't have a year like '06, you can count on him to put up decent numbers for a #3 thru #5 OF.

I just got offered a trade that would send Ibanez from my team in a 12 team roto league for Adam Dunn. I am almost inclined to take Dunn because I think his numbers will rise a little while Ibanez should fall from the previous season.

Avoid Dunn at all costs. Too streaky. Keep Ibanez.

Dunn is probably the ugliest source of HRs. That being said, he will get you 40-45 HRs. It all depends how badly you need HRs,
because he will also bring down your BA(he'll be lucky to hit .260, more likely .250). I personally try to avoid him. I'd look to another source of HRs if you need them. just my opinion though.

My projections have Dunn at $18.06 and Ibanez at $16.38. From a pure production standpoint Dunn is the better choice. That said, Dunn is certainly a unique player in that he actually manages to wreck a category in the way that only has a comparison to a player like Juan Pierre in the RBI category. He's worse than useless in batting average (similar to Pierre in RBI's) but delivers big-time in home runs at a cut-rate price.

I think this one has to come down to your needs. I actually targeted Dunn in one of my drafts and came out with a team projected to have a 0.289 team average so dealing with Dunn's average is very possible. Unfortunately it's something that you almost have to build your draft strategy around. If you can't absorb the hit to average that Dunn brings then I'd stick with Ibanez.

I'd take him as my #3 OF anyday. He isn't going to repeat, but he will still produce. Ichiro batting leadoff will give him many RBI opportunities.

Ibanez is great cause you can draft him VERY late for the numbers he will put up. 2006 might have been his best year but if he doesn't repeat those numbers I think he will be close
