The Twins have very little intentions on starting LeCroy at catcher. I think LeCroy is a very good DH, but I don't think he has much skill at catcher. I saw him play a couple of his games and he didn't look too good playing. He can hit well, but I don't think you want him on your team unless you play a DH.
I would tend to agree with this analysis except, I want LeCroy on my team as a hitter and the fact that he is eligible at the Catcher position just makes him that much more valuable. It's hard to get catchers with good offensive numbers beyond the top tier (only about four of those). Drafting LeCroy as a catcher means you get a free Utility player on your roster. Most roto leagues don't give any points for his skills behind the plate. If they did, Michael Barrett and Josh Bard would be hot items!

He really has to do good, because I know for one that some aren't happy that the Twins didn't take Prior at number 1 instead of Mauer.
The Twins passed on Prior because of signability concerns. Twin fans will enjoy Mauer. I think hes the best guy in minors right now. He does it all, except power, but that likely comes.

The Giants have already given Alberto Castillo a major league contract, so they could add Torrealba to any trade packages their putting together. The Brewers might be interested in him as part of a Richie Sexson deal

22 at catcher, 17 at first, 64 at DH.
At Yahoo he will have C/1B/DH eligibility.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
I know bumping threads is frowned upon, but I thought this one was interesting. The consensus about this trade seemed to be that the Giants "ripped" the Twins. In retrospect,
Pierzynski
for
Nathan
Liriano
Bonser
seems to be slightly in the Twins favor...
I just thought it was interesting. I wonder what the cafe would have thought about the Babe Ruth trade...
