Looks like Benito is out in SanFran. Anyone else hear that he might end up back where he started, in San Diego, to round out his career?

The Padres have me intrigued this coming season. Giles, Nevin, Klesko, a healthy Hoffman, and a young SP rotation that is going to get better. A couple of nice FA pickups and they'll have something to talk about in their new digs next year.

Yes, the Padres are in a very nice position this coming year. I think they will surprise a lot of people. ;-D

Hoffman isn't exactly healthy though, he's still got a 40% tear in his rotator cuff. :-o

and yes, Benito probably will sign for a year. But I am sure Towers wil exaust every avenue first. Losing out on AJ kinda sucks though.

Ben got traded him for Tomko, then the next year traded Tomko for Hackman, and the next year cut Hackman Oct 1st. Now we is trying to trade FOR Ben. No one ever accused Towers of being the smartest man in baseball.

Well looks like they got their catcher now. A good trade for the Pads. I think Hernandez and Long will work out nicely for them.

Well Long will give a little insurance for Nady now... I still think one of them gets moved before spring.
