Anyone see any glaring flaws in this categorey setup

BA
HR
H
R
Doubles
Trips
RBI
OPS
K's
SB
TB
----------
IP
W
L
WHIP
ERA
K
K/9
K/BB
SV
CG
SHO

_____

Is this benefitting any particular type of players too much, I don't want to give any specific type of player too much of an advantage, to the point that player values to dramatically changed.

it just seems like a lot of double counting to me, K's and K/9, AVG and hits, just different ways to get the same stat. HR, OPS, and TB are gonna favor power guys, but speed guys have AVG, H, SBs and K's, so hitting seems balanced enough. I dont understand using IP as a cat, cuz that just encourages people to start way too many SPs...also having CG and SHO as cats seems weak because they are very random and almost impossible to predict

Overall it seems like many cats are counting the same or similiar things, you could eliminate a few and make things much simpler.

Good stuff, I was thinking about throwing out CG and SHO anyways because it's H2H and basically any week that you get 1 of wither you're going to win the cat.

i dont like counting BB in addition to whip. maybe something like k/bb, but that favors strikeout guys even more.

yeah combine OBP and slug into OPS and drop BB for pitchers cuz it is already counted in whip, that way you have a nice 8x8 league now

I prefer OBP and SLG separate for fantasy. OPS is a good quick and dirty stat but OBP and SLG ratios are not equatable. Just my $.02.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
