Video Games on Projection TV's

i have a beautiful HD 56 inch tv in my basement...opposed to the half dead 20 inch with messed up colors in my room. i remember when getting the 56 ages ago the guy telling me that playing games on it was bad since its a projection, but now im hearing that only pausing the game will damage it. if anyone has any knowledge on the subject, id appreciate knowing if i can infact play video games on it, if theres a time limit i should play on it, etc.

It really only burns if you keep certain screen still on it for a while, such as a pause menu or if there was a game where the background was always the same.
