Thoughts on Yahoo versus ESPN

Postby Iggy » Fri Feb 16, 2007 9:54 pm

The commish of our leagues has decided to switch sites from Yahoo to ESPN. I have never used ESPN. How user friendly is it? Do they have a deeper player data base than Yahoo? So far I find ESPN is a hassle to log in to the site (ie must always enter member name and password). Is the ESPN draft applet for the live draft easy to use? Any comments would be appreciated.

I can't comment on 2007, but in previous years, the only thing less user friendly than ESPN has been SportsLine, for me. The features they offer are sweet, but they are hella cumbersome to navigate through.

I jumped into an ESPN league just to see how it looks. Once you're in to your league page, things look nice and seem to be easier to navigate. I'll be interested to see how it is this year.

The true test will come at draft time. ESPN is a good site during the season but they have had a God-aweful time getting their live drafts to work properly even before they went free.

In the past espn has concentrated only on fantasy football, but with Mathew Berry (http://www.talentedmrroto.com/nhl.aspx) they have stepped up in a big way, ESPN rocks, with automated keeper (FREE) and fully customizable league options. A+++++++++ for the new espn!
