I just read this crazy Nomar/A-Rod rumor. Although it sounds far fetched, does it mean that they are actively shopping Nomar? If so, is it because they feel he'd be to expensive to sign long term and an acknowledgement that he may be slipping? Is it possible that they trade him and sign Tejada to replace him if they don't get Rodriguez? Does it also mean that the market for Ramirez is nill? What does this all mean for Pedro? Will they let him walk after this season? It seems to me that the Red Sox are the pivotal team for much of the player movement this offseason, so any help in this would be appreciated.

I'm not from Boston but from what I've heard, Nomar wants to play in California and he is a free agen next year. They are trying to resign him but if they can't they are going to try to trade him.

The market for Manny is nil. He did make it through waivers. Now if Boston wants to move him, they will have to eat some of his contract.

If Boston could move Nomar, then that would free up some money to resign Pedro after the season. Or they could move Pedro, and keep Nomar.

I think right now Boston is trying to get all the possible scenarios down, and then make a decision on what's best for their situation.
