Its that time of year again... and i'm pretty excited about how my first draft went. I think its a pretty solid club for this 10 team CBS H2H league, but it does have some holes. I could probably use more relief pitching (esspecially given CBS's favorible scoring for saves), but with some luck and diligence I can get some help on the wire; I don't have an elite starter or a real burner, and I don't have as much positional flexability as I'd like. anyway, take a look, and give me your opinion/ rating
C 18 (#180) Kenji Johjima (C SEA)
1B 1 (#1) Albert Pujols (1B STL)
2B 14 (#140) Rickie Weeks (2B MIL)

SS 5 (#41) Jimmy Rollins (SS PHI)
OF 3 (#21) Carlos Beltran (CF NYM)
OF 4 (#40) Carlos N. Lee (LF HOU)
OF 8 (#80) Hideki Matsui (LF NYY)

P 6 (#60) John Lackey (SP ANA)
P 7 (#61) Ben Sheets (SP MIL)
P 9 (#81) Barry Zito (SP SF)
P 10 (#100) Matt Cain (SP SF)
P 11 (#101) Ervin Santana (SP ANA)
P 12 (#120) Jason Isringhausen (RP STL)
P 15 (#141) Takashi Saito (RP LA)
id pick up either the big hurt or nomar for batting in place of kendrick. and for pitching id pick up like borowski or dempster for isringhausen. otherwise i would say you had a good draft.
Big Hurt or adrian gonzalez would be good, and this is an awsome team. For example, beltran and wright went 10-11 in a league im in. So nice job. Also rollins at 41 is a steal.
well, i think you go for gagne on the waiver wire this early, if he does come out OK, you have a solid guy. I also would go for the big hurt or teahen for kendrick, weeks will be just fine there at 2B, but Helton is risky and it would be nice to have some backup for him
Reyes and guerrero, the two most blessed players in the league, not to mention the most fun to watch

I couldn't agree more. Solid team and Rollins that late was highway robbery.

alright, so i dropped blanton and picked up gagne, and I offered patterson and contreras for lidge to free up a roster spot and grab adrian gonzalez. anything else i should be doing?
right now im not sure but yeah gagne was a definite boost. If he busts well w.e its not a position u were gunna dominate if he has a comeback year it rounds out your squad nicely. Im sure there's some tweaks u could do and trades but it all depends on the other managers
Alright, so I just Traded Helton and Contreras for Hafter, meaning I've solidified my Util spot, and now my top six hitters are pretty unbelievible. my question now is: what do i do with the roster spot that the trade netted me? do I add a starting pitcher with high upside? add another hitter? or grab Otsuka and handcuff gagne?
here are some options on the wire:
Thomas
Freel
J. Rivera (DL him)
Posednick
Murton
bradley
duffy
hermedia
Adrian Gonzalez
Conor Jackson
Beltre
Rolen
Garland
Otsuka
Duke
Escobar

Alright, So I picked up Escobar, but now Markakis has hit the waiver wire. concidering my team, does he, or any of the players in the post above deserve a spot on my roster? and who would be worth dropping for a free agent?
