IP Cap in standard 5x5

To avoid spot-starting this year, my league has decided to go from IP as a category to WHIP, and we are looking for the nationwide league-average for Max Innings Pitched. is it 1000? 1150? 1250?

Any help would be appreciated!

The average is 1250. Thats what it is usually auto set to.

I like 1350. We also establish an offline minimum of 1000, such that you can't win without 1000 IP, to keep owners from being too reliever-happy.

The standard is 1250 but we use 1400 since its only fair to allow 9 IP/game. 9 x 162 = 1458 IP so we rounded down to 1400

I would think that eliminating IP as a category would be enough to limit spot starting. Now, if people do it it will hurt WHIP so there's not as much a benefit.
