Well the bottom line was that Willis was served the award on a silver platter. The voters decided a long time ago and ignored the final numbers.
It should have gone to Webb in my opinion, but I wouldn't have argued had it gone to Pods.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Willis is a more publicly known player and has gotten alot more press than Webb has. Since the reporters spent more time with Willis maybe they were more inclined to give the award to willis.

BINGO! thats why willis won and thats why Ichiro won MVP in 2001
For those of you who used my post as an arguing point, i just want to say that I'm trying to see every side of the issue. IMO, it doesn't matter who wins. It just matters how the team does.

Amen to the Ichiro part. Giambi should've won it in 2001 and he was an Athletic back then, so I wasn't biased.

Nope, just as bad. Mgrs vote for gold gloves, and put no effert into it. Palmeiro won a gold glove with 28 games at 1b. You won't a better vote, let a group of sabermetric guys vote.

Ever since they gave the MVP to Dimaggio the year Williams won the triple crown because they didn't like Williams to when they gave the MVP to Mo Vaugn instead of Albert Belle because, again, they didn't like him. They're a joke and I have little respect for them
Excellent examples. Writers hold grudges, which effect results.

I do not get how a bunch of professional, educated writers could turn into this evil assortment of pea-brained biggots. Do you gain a vote in deciding races, such as the ROY voting, by committing honorable acts of ignorance?
Educated yes, in journalism. They know how to write stories, do interviews. I don't know of any baseball acadamies.
Webb was left off 7 ballots? Is this true? Please tell me it's only a sick joke.
