NoTrade Clauses

I don't know if anyone else has tried this, but our league is implementing a NoTrade Clause option for our upcoming draft.

Let's say team A takes ARod at pick #1. Team B has pick #2. With pick 2, team b can offer ARod a no trade clause. Team A can either match it or decline.

If they match it, ARod stays with team A, however team A can never trade him or cut him unless he dies, retires, or fails to make a 40-man team out of spring training.

If they don't match it, ARod goes to team B with the same conditions. Team A then gets pick 2. Team A is then compensated with a sandwich round 7th round pick to make up for having to move down a pick.

Do others have similar rules? If not, try these!

Really interesting idea. I think that you will find a lot of problems with it down the road but it should be exciting for now.

And you have to go through that for every pick in the draft? Holy smokes! I say its a little excessive but hey if its fun then go for it. I tried to implement an August waiver/trade system similar to MLB this season but it was voted down. Too complicated they said.
