Jose Contreras- Would you draft him?

Postby 05worldserieschamps » Thu Feb 15, 2007 11:31 am

Haven't seen his name much, scratch that, at all. He won like...17 straight games at some point last year. He still has a nasty splitter for K's. What do you think about him for this season??? Would you draft him?
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.

Pretty bad second half, although if memory serves he finished the season pretty well. I read somewhere that he's lost some velocity too, so that's a little concerning. That said I think he's probably at least a league-average pitcher next year.

He's capable of putting good stretched together but he is too old to maintain it for a full season. I think he is worth a late round flier, and a playable starter when he gets hot.

I would draft him in the later rounds and hope he starts off as hot as he did last year. The numbers he put up in his first 10 starts or so were just plain filthy. :-°

I would take him late in the draft. He is bound to have a good stretch of a few starts. Better than dradting an old hitter that i'll only use for a few games.
