I don't care about this affecting the Mets, where he'll be the pitching coach, but what about the Big Three? He was instrumental in their growth. Will there be any impact?

I do not think Peterson leaving will have much of an impact on the A's big three or Harden and Blanton for that matter.
Peterson's knowledge has aided in turning Hudson, Mulder and Zito into a collective pitching diety. Thier understanding of pitching combined with the Athletic's state of the art pitching facilities and whomever the A's can bring in to replace Rick will be plenty for anyone to thrive on or under.
After all, would the A's really part with Peterson if they knew it would kill their three headed $38.2 million investment?

For the Mets...this is a great move...with the young staff that they have he could be very improtant in bringing them along....as for the A's....I hope the don't bring in Chris Bosio...now that he is availible....

I heard Peterson get interviewed on a NY radio station today and he just rambled on and on forever. They had to almost cut him off. He sounds very intelligent along the lines of biomechanics and stuff like that. He should do well for the Mets.

If Oakland would keep their bats instead of letting them go every year, they might actually win something eventually. From the looks of it, when they start to lose the big 3, they will start getting some bats. Gotta have both to win.

That or they pinch hit for their 11-million man with a rookie in a clutch situation. When was the last time that you sat $11 million for $500K, mid-game?
