Does anybody know of a site where I can download all MLB stats from this past season. I am hoping it is free and that I can download it straight into Excel. Thank you in advance.
I know all about ESPN, Yahoo, MLB.com. I am talking about downloading the stats into Excel onto my computer. I know Yahoo used to have a free download, but that changed this past season.
wrveres....I think this is a calling for you......
Useless Trivia of the day
England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.
None that I know of, that are downloadable anyways..
I don't think TSN will do it for free but yes, they had as excellent site until they chraged you for it. Actually I "Missed" alot of there content this season, so I will probably pay for it next season. They have me over a Barrel.
Yahoo is a Joke
Sportsline has become unreliable
ESPN, I honestly don't use that often
Rototimes has the basics and it is very friendly to .............

Well don't do any sorting until you have the raw numbers. I alwys use two pages. One to import, Then I clean it up, rid of the color, font whatever. I take it down to raw numbers. Then and only then do I cut n' paste it into a master. Then it can be sorted.
I copy n paste out of yahoo into excel all the time. It's a royal pain as you only get 25 players at a time. Or at least the way I do it, from the "Avail Players" section. You'll have to toggle to "Taken" to get guys on your league's rosters.
BUT THE KEY STEPS IN THEN SORTING YOUR STATS ARE THESE:
1)After you've copied everything into your sheet, you must select everything on your sheet and copy it again.
2)Then create a new sheet and select "PASTE AS" on the new sheet. Select "VALUES" and paste that into the first cell on your new sheet.
These steps get rid of all the hyperlinks and little "note icons" that screw you up when trying to sort on the original sheet.
