Cafe Auction Keeper League...

i'd like to start a auction keeper league (not a mock draft; a real league on yahoo)

BASIC RULES-

5x5 roto
12 teams
26 player roster
8-10 keepers (still up for discussion)
$260 limit (fake auction money)
POSITIONS: C,1B,2B,3B,SS,OF,OF,OF,OF,OF,MI,CI,UTIL...9 PITCHERS (1500 innings pitched limit)...4 BENCH

if arlo could give us a forum once we fill up (if we do ), then it would be much easier to get started

i'd like to see if there is any interest, and if people could help me get a definate set of rules[/b]

I would be interested, but I have never done an action league before. Maybe you could cut the roster down alittle, maybe:

C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, CI, MI, UTL

8 PITCHERS, 4 BENCH

my ideas on how the auction would work...

-2 month time period
-in the forum (if we ever get one ), members of the league will start threads with the player's name that you wish to bid for as the subject; they will post the amount of money that they wish to bid for the player in the body; people will respond to their posts with higher bids if they wish to bid higher for the player
-if a player (who is posted in a thread) is not raised for a week, the player goes to the member of the league who bidded the highest for the player
-every player left over will be put in a serpentine draft with the person who has the most money remaining going 1st and the person who has the least amount of money left going last
-every player drafted in the serpintine draft, takes on a salary of $1
-going into the serpintine draft, you have to have $1 left for every player under the 26 man roster
-don't forget there is a $260 price limit on the 26 players

Ilike the idea of a draft but this way seems like it would be hard to keep up with.I know its ahrd to get 12 guys together but most at the cafe are here daily from what i see.Why not just do it in a chat room .Or even better with microphones.You establish an order and go thru and everyone tables the player they want.then let the bidding begin.I might take a while but i can be done i think if all participants can set aside an afternoon.
