Stevelabny, I'm not taking personal offense. The guest seems to be, but not me.
But you're tone is like "Mattingly's crap and was never any good for baseball the Yankees or baseball!"
Neither of those things are true is my only point. The guy was awesome for a short period of time. The number of major league baseball players ever is a decidedly small percentage of the world.
The number of baseball players that have any significant period of greatness is even smaller. Mattingly is clearly in the upper tier of all time baseball players. Yeah, not top 100. Not top 200, maybe, but a great player.
Basically, you're totally attacking the guy for getting hurt, and the only reason I was coming back at you is that if you can't apprecaite a guy like Mattingly, you're missing out. There's all kinds of players to like and dislike, and this guy just doesn't seem to have any reason for tossing him into the "dislike" category other than the fact you get to feel unique for doing so.
I could care less if you like him or not. I'm merely pointing out that you should!
