ACS is bitter because his mom won a grammy in 1979 for "Best Spoken Word Performance." This was just before William Shatner started dominating the category.
She used it as a paper weight until she sold it Fred Durst to keep their impending videotape out of the media. Meanwhile, Fred Durst talks about "his" Grammy today... thankfully, no one is listening.

It can't really compare to the Oscars, because at least with movies, there can be a fairly common consensus on what makes a film award-worthy. Things like screenplays, cinematography, directing, acting and visual effects can all be quantitatively measured in some way.
Music is so vast and engrossing that it's nearly impossible to pick out the best of the best. A group or artist can excel in their genre, but lack any kind of overall appeal. The opposite can be true too. Also, personal taste plays a much larger part in the appeal of music than that of movies. It's also so argumentative; as well as discouraging and frustrating.
The Grammy's are, in my opinion, the most meaningless of all awards shows. Unless they could break awards down into each, prospective genre, it will always be absurd.
what about the Tony's? maybe those just suck more but are more meaningful.
i put it on after Rome to help me fall asleep and woke up to Christina Aguliera singing something that sounded like the vocals to The Great Gig in The Sky
BEST HARD ROCK PERFORMANCE "Crazy Bitch," Buckcherry "Every Day Is Exactly The Same," Nine Inch Nails "Lonely Day," System Of A Down "Vicarious," Tool "Woman," Wolfmother WINNER
NIN System and Tool are better then Zeppelin cover Band Wolfmother
I like Wolfmother, but how did that song become their hit? IMO, its tied with Apple Tree for their worst one. They shoulda picked anything else off of that album
"Let's Keep The Friendly Confines Friendly" - Ernie Banks
I think it was featured in video games and I'm almost positive I remember an Ipod commercial with it. I'm sure it was in some other commercials too. Just can't remember off the top of my head. I think that one was up simply because of the mainstream publicity it received.
