Your Staff is Young

Postby mu_biggie » Mon Feb 12, 2007 12:33 am

There are alot of questions with your young pitching staff. Is wainwright a closer or a starter, Probably a starter. Is Pappelbon going to be an effective starter? Will his arm be healthy? I just dont like that your only solid pitcher is Oswalt.
I grade overall team C
Pitching D with possiblity to be B[/b]

He's still got Verlander, Oswalt and Weaver on top of the 2 you mentioned though. He has 8 starters here, and 4 closers. I think it's an exceptional pitching staff. Even if both Papelbon and Wainwright don't pan out, he's still got 6 guys to pick up the slack.

Maybe my perception is a bit off because it's only a 10 man draft, but your offense seems to be pretty balanced as well. You've got plenty of steals, and power to add up in all categories. Your batting average will definately suffer, but all other categories look to be well covered. I like it, so I'm gonna go with a B+ overall.

Pitching is going to be an issue.

Well I only see two closers. Which could be fine is just depends. He will be able to find a cheap closer. I am also not sure about Verlander. He pitched well last year but I think you will see some fall off this year in his production. But that is just my opinion.

BA is going to be a problem but the offense looks good otherwise.
The pitching looks good.

Tankersley and Dotel are closers as well.

Closers

Postby mu_biggie » Mon Feb 12, 2007 4:54 pm

Questionable closers. I mean Dotel is pitching in KC and Tankersly hasn't closed at all yet. I like the team I am just not sold on the pitching staff

I don't see how Dotel is questionable. No one is going to take his job and KC isn't going to blow anyone out. He'll get plenty of opportunities. I just worry about him being traded mid-season.

Thanks for all the responses guys!

Just found out that this will actually be transfered into a Yahoo league, and not just a mock draft, and I'm excited to see how my team pans out.
