Potential Closer Solution?

Craig Hansen is the closer for the future. If he performs well out of ST, he might get some opportunities. Pineiro will start the regular season as the closer. The Sox front office isn't going to take a chance on him, sign him to an incentive laden contract and then not give him a shot. It wouldn't make sense. And the Sox front office hasn't made too many piss-poor moves.

We had a shot at Mike Gonzalez, but the Pirates wanted too much. I wasn't really impressed with Gonzalez to begin with, I'm glad we didn't pull the trigger.

Wakefield will not close out games for the Sox this season.
