The funny thing is that we always get on sports figures for not speaking their minds and he does it and is hated by many. I hated him as a manager but respected his knowledge of the game. He actually grew on me in the studio.
bobby v was a GREAT addition to ESPN. he has everything you could ask for in a studio-guy. knowledge, charisma, a sense of humor, and the ability to speak english (lost on many current athletes-turned-announcers)
day one on the job he said "I don't like Mike Piazza cuz he's italian... I like Mike Piazza cuz I'M italian"
How can you not like a guy with a sense of humor like that?
He will be sorely missed. BBTN will have problems filling his shoes.
David Wells has not ruled out pitching next season and he may end up back in pinstripes, too. But if his injured back forces him to retire from baseball, there may be a way for him to remain in the game. Officials from ESPN's "Baseball Tonight" show have reached out to Wells about replacing Bobby Valentine, according to a person close to the lefthander.
Good Pick ..... Tons of personality. Wonder if he will show up drunk.

Me, too. If he retired and worked on BBTN, I would welcome it. I like it when they get guys to speak their minds rather than the same monotone guys.

NO! I don't want to listen to David Wells.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
