I think that's it exactly. I rank them as:
Tier 1:
Utley
Tiers 2-5:
A whole bunch of guys who were pretty good last year but may regress plus a lot of guys with talent who were hurt last year or are upcoming prospects who many consider likely to breakout this year.
I'll probably be the last one in most of my drafts to take a 2 bagger. Only guy I can see taking a shot on if I think he falls too far is Roberts. After that there are at least 10 guys I value about the same and any of whom could have a great year.
Tier 2 (difference between any of these is minimal):
Cano
Roberts
Weeks
Lugo
Uggla
Kinsler
Kendrick
Kent
Lopez
Barfield
Giles
Phillips
IMO, there is a larger number of 2B with very similar value. Outside of Utley, there probably won't be a significant difference from the next 10 guys. So draft Utley in round 1, or wait for another in a late round.
I think Cano is way too low, I see him as a minimum 2nd tier maybe even 1st. I think Kendrick has great potential but I don't see how he can already be placed in 2nd tier when he hasn't really shown what he can do at the major league level.
If at first you dont succeed, you are running about average.

I was extremely high on him last year, but it's hard to tell what he might do this year after missing so much of last season. He's still only 25, and the Tampa offense looks to be a little better this year than last. If he doesn't crack the top 13 or 14 2B taken off the board I'm worried I'll have him in about all of my leagues. Does anyone think .280, 22 HR, 90 RBI 85 R is out of the question for him this year?
I think those numbers are most likely out of the question for him. I have never been very high on Cantu. The quality of the Rays offense won't make a huge difference if Cantu still sucks (and I still think he will). I have him down as the 26th ranked 2B.

Unless I get them at a steal, IM almost waiting around until early Tier 3 or Late Tier 2. The 2B field is just so deep, and if the other owners get excited and over draft them, there will be plenty of 2B waiting around at the end. Even is a 12 team league, your looking at getting a Brandon Phillips, Tadhito Iguchi and Maybe even Barfield or Kinsler. Those 2B are around the 12-15 range that I could get solid to above average production out of in late rounds.
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.

Honestly, I would rather have Kendrick.
I think that this guy has some SERIOUS talent. I am very high on Barfield too, so, needless to say I won't be dissapointed with Barfield or Kendrick. I won't reach for Kendrick like most people do, so Barfield has been going my way in a lot of mock drafts.

I would take Kendrick without hesitation.
