Yeah because apparently they have so many better options.
Either he figures Jody Gerut or Jose Bautista are going to make some huge splash with the team (I can believe it from Jose but not Jody), or Duffy will hit so poorly early on that they bring up McCutchen after a hot start in AA...

Not that I think those wouldnt happen but i think if the pirates are doing as well as everyone has hyped i could see them signing a centerfielder FA if Duffy struggles. On the other end if the pirates are struggling and duffy isnt doing well I think McCutcheon will be called up or they will go with a committee in the CF.
No way I think Duffy struggles again. Looking at his minor league stats and what he did when he returned to the Majors last year, I think he will be allright.
In the minors he hit .317, .301, .309 & .308
Last year after the recall he hit .282 and was great at the end when in Sept he hit .336.. I think he will be fine

I really hope so. I think he could be the missing link along with Laroche this year.
Duffy is certain to be the Pirates lead-off hitter, in spite of his horrible spring and inability to take a walk.
Pirates Projected Lineup (When/if Sanchez is healthy)
1. CF Duffy
2. SS Wilson
3. 2B Sanchez
4. LF Bay
5. 1B LaRoche
6. RF Nady
7. 3B Bautista
8. C Paulino

Duffy goes very late in drafts so even if he disappoints, it doesnt hurt too much because you normally spend a very low pick on him. I like him to hit .285 with 30 SB's though.
