I had Peavy/Lawrence/Eaton all at one point or another last year. I'm looking forward to watching the Padres do well next year. :-)

Everybody is available, or haven't you been reading here in the Cafe. Even Varitek, god forbid that San Diego and Bos have front office ties. Ask Larry Lucchino. :-B

As for stepping up. I always step-up up. Here check out this link, where I stepped up for a Padre. :-)

I will be one who says he struggles some. At AA and AAA, he didn't walk much. Has trouble with breaking balls. A good talent, but maybe a bit overrated. I know hes not a ss, but a ex Padre is my early pick for nlroy, Jason Bay.

ha i wasnt attacking the padres. i just mainly feel like that one veteran starter could be what they need. how about their bullpen though??

I agree that a veteran starter would be a good pickup. Rumor going around is that it could be Maddux. Something about him recently building a home in San Diego................
