when he was drafted in 2002. He was the one player, considered by most, to be ready for the "Show" now. The Padres did the right thing and gave him at least a year in the minors. Greene will be solid... Nice sleeper and a late round pickup to fill out your roster. SS overall should be deep this season. So he might fall far........................
I agree. Greene should do well, and he's not even on most people's radar screen. Could end up being the steal of the draft for a lot of people.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Well I am not expecting 100 runs and 100 rbis either, I think letting him bat 8th takes a ton of pressure off of him. Especially for a rookie, playing for a team opening a new stadium. And on a team expected to compete? 8Th is perfect ... .280 BA .. 60 runs 18 hrs and 70 rbis 10 SB's, is where I would have him. Its early though. His stock could climb this offseason as the "Magazines" get a hold of him. I can't see drafting him except in a NL only League. Maybe a deep Mixed or def a keeper...IMO
But I might as well get started now huh, Feel free to join the bandwagon as I will carry my "chant" proudly.
Kahlil Greene 2004 National League Rookie of the Year ....
so what is this line-up gonna look like? do they plan to keep Loretta or are they going to try to land Castillo, he would be a GREAT addition to a CRAZY line-up

Is probably a little more what the lineup will look like. Though I like Santiago for sentimental reasons, it has been pointed out to me (properly so) that Benito is done. He just doesn't know it yet. I like the fact that Varitek is available.
Also I read some rumors a couple of weeks ago about a Kotsay to Oak deal .... No other names, Just Oakland was high on Kotsay.
well whomever they find to catch, i think this team could see very significant improvement next year and if it can get some pitching help it could have an outside chance at contention.

The Padres have an awesome young pitching staff. Jake Peavy should really come to his own next season. Brian Lawrence has exceptional command and will be a huge beneficiary of a more powerful San Deigo offense. Adam Eaton has shown glimpses of greatness, following his Tommy John operation in 2001.
If you look at Peavy, Lawrence, and Eaton's 2003 ERAs, they are all right around 4.0. Not bad for a 22 year old, a 26 year old and a 25 year old. My definition of San Deigo pitching help would be one solid veteran.
wrveres you need to step on up an defend your boys .
