Who to put up for bid

Postby grammysboy » Wed Feb 07, 2007 1:43 pm

At our auction, each team owner gives the name of a player with an opening bid. If no one else wants that player for more than the opening, the owner who put him up gets him. Traditionally, studs are nominated at fairly high openings. Albert will go on the board at around $25, Santana will start at $15. I want to nominate players in the first few rounds that I don't really want to put on my team, but I have to name a player every round. I'm looking for players I won't be upset about putting on my roster for $1. The kind of players I'm looking for are aging or returning from a bad season or injury. Like:

Kenny Lofton
Jay Gibbons
Javy Lopez

Each of these may bring more than $1 which is fine. However, if I get stuck with them for a buck that's OK too. Please list more players I can put on the board for $1.

thanks

Personally I'm putting up guys early that I don't really want or think they are going to be overpriced and watch the madness follow with crazy bidding.

I'd nominate guys like Hanley Ramirez, Uggla, etc early because people usually always overprice guys early and that will take them out of the market later for guys you really want.

How deep is your league?

How many roster spots?

How much cap?

Good questions.

14 teams
23 roster spots including MI CI and one U
no bench

$260 salary cap at the auction. Keepers from the previous year are deducted from the $260. I have no keepers.
