Good Explanation on Little...

Good article here. I'm amazed with the stuff on Nick Johnson and ignoring Wallace. (As the Sports Guy said BEFORE the ALCS, it's too bad we couldn't leave the Manager off the roster...)

Good article. Not sure why Little made so many (obvious?) mistakes. I agree with the Sox. Little just didn't give enough weight to certain decisions.

Not having a hitters meeting before the Oakland series gets me too.

Ignoring your pitching coach, who suggests pulling Pedro? Not forgivable.

Ignoring advance scouts data? Uggh.

That's horrid.

I agree. ;-D

The only thing I didn't exactly agree with was where it said that the numbers show Pedro gets tired after 105 pitches. Either Wrveres or HOOTIE showed the numbers earlier and Pedro gave up a few more hits, but less runs after his pitch count went above 105. Not sure what they are referring to exactly.

Oh, and the comment about relying too much on Lyon. Lyon went 9/9 in save situations. He didn't blow one until they told him he was no longer the closer.

How about the Boston owners open up their wallets for a change and give 3 or 4 million to someone reputable like Tom Kelly to come in and run things? Little screwed up big time but they shelled out $500,000 for their manager. Where talking about the Boston Red Sox here. Those guys can crucify Grady all they want but they got what they paid for.
I could be wrong in what I'm saying but I'll be dead before I realize it.

Well, Grady was their choice. Remember he was hired when there was a lot going on in Boston and a lot of people didn't want the job without knowing what was going on with management.

And Grady accepted the first offer the team made--he didn't even try to negotiate. So I think your premise is off.

Tom Kelly won't coach the team, at least with Ortiz there, and potentially Walker. They hate the man.

I don't think we need a big name, just the right guy. Although I like Valentine, if people can get around this aura of people hating him. I think he is one of the few who can handle the city and the job.

I'd like to see Hargrove get a shot at it. I think he got a raw deal in Baltimore.
