Sounds pretty cool. Only thing is...I've never done a slow draft before. Could someone give me a rundown of how that works? Then I'll sign up for one of them.
I signed up for the slow 12 teamer, interesting that people hav so far chosen picks 5-8, seems like thats where people consider the value will be in the first round.
I've signed up for a fast draft, but when I close the window or leave the site, I am no longer signed up in the draft...

Thats not a glitch. Teams get removed from fast drafts if they leave the draft page before it is full. That is so you don't end up doing a "live draft" with a bunch of teams that signed up hours before and didn't come back to the site.

Its just like a normal live draft, but you don't have to sit there the whole time, you check in every so often and see if you're on the clock or how close it is to getting to your team, and when you're up, you make a pick. You can put yourself on auto if you have your queue/rankings set up. The "auto queue" feature is supposed to make slow drafts work better. If you know you want to hit Schilling in the next round, but if he is taken then you're not sure what you're going to do with your pick, you put just Schilling in your queue and go on "Auto Queue", when the draft comes to you, it will automatically take Schilling. if he is gone, then you are taken off auto queue and your pick doesnt get made, and it waits for you to come make it (12 hour limit, of course)

As soon as the last team joins, the draft will begin. If you're not sure if you'll be around for it, you could put your first pick in your queue, and put your status on AQ. it will take that player

I'd say drafts are more popular now, but auctions were the original method for assembling a team, tons of people still have them, and lots of the expert leagues are and always have been auctions. There is definitely a market for it.
