How about the scene where they're torturing Mel at the end of Braveheart? Maximus' battle with Joaqin Phoenix at the end of Gladiator? The opening scene in American Beauty? The opening scene of Saving Private Ryan? Pachino and DeNiro sharing a cup of coffee in HEAT? The dialogue between Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta in Pulp Fiction? Colonel Kurtz's first appearance in Apocolypse Now? DeNiro and Walken playing Russian Roulette in Deer Hunter?

The "great scene" in Tombstone was when Kurt Russell embarasses Billy Bob Thornton in front of his friends. Whereas Val Kilmer has a ton of "great lines" in that movie.

Star Wars is cheesy

I guess I would disagree. The whole end scene with Rigno and Doc is just great writing. The scene has great line after great line and after awhile of great lines, it becomes a great scene.

Absolutely.

Every scene with Doc and Ringo facing off is a great scene. Especially earlier in the movie when they start speaking Latin and Doc shows off his cup-handling skills.

"That's Latin darlin'. Evidently Mr. Ringo is an educated man. Now I really hate him."

plays classical sounding piano piece

"That was beautiful, what is it called?"

"Lick My Love Pump."
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

Who can forget the scene in Fight Clun where Tyler Durden demoralizes Lou by laughing in his face when he's giving his best.

This is one of those rare scenes that no matter how many times I see it, it always makes me cringe.

Ssssh darling, trust me. It's for the best.
