In my league we can keep a prospect as a prospect for 3 years before having to keep tehm as a MLB player thus taking up 1/7 spots. So I traded off Fernando Martinez for Hunter Pence because Fernando is too young. any thoughts?

I don't think Pence is going to beat out Carlos Lee anytime soon for the LF spot in Houston. If Scott plays anywhere close to how he did last year, I imagine you will be regretting that trade for a long time.

thats a bad trade the potential of martinez is worth keeping over pence unless you need an OF now. but pence isnt guaranteed anything. I would have kept fernando

really, consider how far away Martinez is right now. It can't be pegged as a horrible trade right now. It has to potential to go either way really. You basically swapped a ? for another ?. Pence is no more a sure thing as Martinez.

Pence can also play center and with Chris Burke as his only competition, I think he could def. get a shot this year. I agree in terms of potential I think you lost this trade but like you said Martinez is be no means a proven commodity and if your team needs help now then I like the trade.
