Good number of keepers?

Postby Texan » Sun Feb 04, 2007 12:30 pm

I'm the commish of a 14 team Yahoo league and we were considering starting a keeper this year but I have no idea how many to do. Here's the Rosters we use:

C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, Util, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL

So the max number of players on a team is 25 if they use the DL.

The number I was thinking of was 3 (not that many but then again we have 14 teams).. 1 pitcher, 1 hitter and 1 any position. How many do you think we should have?

in our league we have complicated rule system to help teh losing teams. in our 25man 12 team league each team has 7 keepers. i think thats a TAD high but it is ok. also as i said last place has compensations. maybe you can have like 5ish keeepers with laast place has some sort of extra benefits so they can compete

Not sure I understand what the extra benefits would be.. can you explain that a little more? I think I could see us doing 4 or 5.. I was just wanting some feedback cause I wasnt sure if that was too many. I want the drafts to still have good players in them so I dont want to do too many keepers. Keep the advice coming guys. THANKS
