LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers officially said goodbye to outfielder Brian Jordan and pitcher Andy Ashby on Wednesday. Management notified Jordan that his $10.5 million option for 2004 would not be picked up. Instead, it will cost the Dodgers $2.5 million to buy it out.
Jordan, acquired in the 2002 trade of Gary Sheffield, was plagued both years by a torn patella tendon that required two operations. He hit .299 with six home runs and 28 RBIs in 2003, and did not play after late June.
Ashby had an $8.5 million option for 2004 that would vest only if he pitched 175 innings in 2003 or 350 innings combined for 2002-03. Ashby pitched 73 innings in 2003 before his elbow gave out, requiring Tommy John reconstructive surgery, finishing with a 3-10 record and 5.18 ERA. Over the two years he pitched 254 2/3 innings.

Lol. Actually, I'm curious to see what moves the new owner makes.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

well hopefully he is married to a "Selig women", and can set them up for contraction .... That would be the best case scenario ...LOL
Lol.
I think he's going to dump any contracts that he can (Like he already did with Jordan's) and then turn around and spend some serious dollars. I could be wrong, but we'll see.

Personally, I would like for the Dodgers to suck for a very very long time, you know, like the Mets. But I know that will never happen. But I am glad to see Rupert out of Baseball. Well almost. we still have to listen to racecar sounds during the baseball broadcast .. Somebody tell him ... please ... no more zoom zoom during baseball.
